“Words are a pretext. It is the inner bond that draws one person to another, not words.”
~  Rumi

As I sat this morning, one of my villa guests made his way out onto the pool deck.   I watched as my energy field instantly began to contract.   I willfully extended out my metta loving-kindness prayer, and expanded my energy out to him.

I find myself pulling in when out in a crowd, or when I become uncomfortable.   And it’s taken me years of practice not to be contracted in these situations, but to contain a certain outward pouring.

We all have the ability to be aware of our own energies, and how they intermingle with others.

It got me to thinking about my shopping trip yesterday.   I set my energy before I left the house.   And I was amazed at how many strangers shared a smile with me, or came up to start a conversation.   I had the nicest chat with a 75 year old male artist, in the file folder isle at OfficeMax.   He immediately began asking me about my profession, as I used my three extra inches of yogic reach to get down some folders he was having trouble reaching.  He then needed some help selecting a USB cable.  In the end, we parted, he asked me for my business card, and I felt like I’d made a new friend.

Rumi writes:  “Those doing soul work, who want the searing truth, more than the solace or applause, know each other right away.   Those who want something else and take a seat in another room.   Soul-makers find each other’s company.  Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere.   They are in each other all along.”

An open heart invites in all kinds opportunities, and tends to invite the right people in ….

I’m very sensitive to auras these days.   My teacher always said to be open – with awareness – moving forward, but to guard our back, for we tend to forget about it.

My boyfriend is back from his trip to the states, and I found it interesting the shifts in energies, as he got in the car, and then at home.   Even the cats act very differently when he is there, or when it’s just me.

I was wondering, when it comes to auras, do opposites or likes attract …  ?

From Lady Kay on the Laws of Attraction:

“Every aura is different and vibrates to its own individual frequency.  When your aura is open and you’re vibrating at the same frequency with someone else or a physical place, that’s when you’ll sense a connection.  When you don’t resonate with someone it’s because you’re both vibrating at a different level.  This is why you may feel a sense of disconnection or the person pulling away from you.  Each individual’s auric energy is different based on what they are experiencing in that moment of time and in their lives.”

“I am sure you have heard the saying – like attracts like!”

“It is more like frequency attracting the same frequency.  Since everything is made up of energy it’s probable that you will tune in to and attract the same frequency that you are resonating.  That is why you should be careful of your thoughts – positive and negative.  It is probable that you will tune in to and attract the same frequency that you are resonating.”

Friends, go out there, and put positive, loving, high-vibrational energy out into the Universe today ….

And one more Rumi quote to end my post (can you tell, I’m on a total Rumi kick lol) ….

Because “What you seek is seeking you!!”
