“Don’t wait any longer. Dive in the ocean. Leave and let the sea be you.”
~  Rumi

I was sleepy as I sat this morning.   Which made it easy to become absorbed in the ever changing array of colors bouncing off the rain clouds.

I was thinking about the Sufi mystic Rumi, and all of his beautiful poetry, based upon Islam (which came as a surprise to me).

At Eastertime, I had a friend ask me of my faith.   Catholic? he asked.    This made me smile.   How does a seeker of truth, undeterred by religious dogma, explain her faith?

As I browsed through some of Rumi’s work, I was brought to the wiki page on mysticism.

Should I be asked this question again, I now have my answer:  I am a yogi mystic, who seeks union with the Absolute, the Infinite, or God, looking for the common uniting thread in all expressions of faith.

Rumi reminds us:  “It’s your road and yours alone.  Others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you.”

Rumi loved to use the sea, as a symbol for unity.

Here are some of my favorites.  Take a walk, and dive into the sea today 🙂 …

Silence is the sea, and speech is like the river.
The sea is seeking you: don’t seek the river.
Don’t turn your head away from the signs offered by the sea.

The eye of the Sea is one thing and the foam another.
Let the foam go, and gaze with the eye of the Sea.
Day and night foam-flecks are flung from the sea: oh amazing!
You behold the foam but not the Sea.
We are like boats dashing together;
our eyes are darkened, yet we are in clear water.

Don’t ask
About the Boat and the Sea
Come and witness the wonders:
For some years now
I’ve been sailing my Boat
On dry land!

The Boat, the night, the sadness
And I’m sailing
In the Sea of Love
With God’s Blessings and Grace.

Board by board
The boats are being shattered
By this storm.
In what condition
will my Boat be
If I’m finding myself
To be so shattered.
In His Sea

A Boat and a board
Are sailing
By His Mercy
Total Strangers and also The Loved Ones are Blessed.

The Boat is sailing
In the calm waves and fine waters of this Sea,
Coming up or going down
Once in a while.
Refrain yourself
From turning the Boat
Upside down.

The Sea is calling on You :
Jump off the Boat !
And submerge yourself
In My Fine Waters.

You are not a drop in the ocean.
You are the entire ocean in a drop.

Don’t wait any longer.
Dive in the ocean,
Leave and let the sea be you.
