“When you give yourself permission to communicate what matters to you in every situation you will have peace despite rejection or disapproval. Putting a voice to your soul helps you to let go of the negative energy of fear and regret.”
~ Shannon L. Alder

Wow! Today’s sunrise was “clear as a bell’ …. Did you know that saying dates back to Shakespeare, who used it in ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ …

‘He hath a heart as sound as a bell, and his tongue is the clapper; for what his heart thinks, his tongue speaks.’ read more

“If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy,
if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you,
if the simple things in nature have a message you understand,
Rejoice, for your soul is alive.”
~ Eleanora Duse

For the first time in weeks, I was able to sit outside and await the sunrise without a jacket on. It’s nice to have our more typical, winter blue skies back again !!

Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone!! I’ve read that a newborn clydesdale pony will be the star of Budweiser’s commercial tonight. I’m sure that commercial, along with a few others, will have the power to move me, bringing tears to my eyes. I think I’ll make up a big pot of vegetarian chili, and settle in for the night. Living in the VI, I’ve lost touch with sports to some degree, but I still love the game. Good luck to both teams tonight. I hope they bring us a nail biter 🙂 read more

~ Lucille Ball

Do you see the heart in the sun? I sure do 🙂

So yesterday, I started off the day not feeling so hot – grumbling stomach and tight muscles – and by mid morning, I was running a 101 degree fever. I am rarely sick, but when I am, I allow this time to practice metta (lovingkindness meditation).

May I be happy,
May I be free from suffering,
May I make friends with my body,
May I dwell in peace,
May I be at ease. read more

“The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”
~ Confucius

Our weather-gurus say that our much needed, showery weather is the result of an old frontal boundary. This made me think of persistence this morning.

The most successful people in the world made their achievements through perseverance, and their quotes bring me courage to continue striving towards my goals and dreams. Inch by inch, life’s a cinch ….

How about you ? Did you set some goals at the first of the year ? It’s the start of a new month. If you’ve backslide a little bit, it’s time to re-dedicate yourself, and begin by picking up just one little stone today 🙂 read more
