“When it comes to life, the critical thing is whether you take things for granted or take them with gratitude.”
~  Gilbert Keith Chesterton

I woke up this morning, grateful for the light rain that fell over night. I was thinking about my villa guests, young graduate students of environmental sciences from Yale University. Over the past 5 days, 11 guest have used up 20″ of water in our cistern, or close to 4,000 gallons of water. That’s 75 gallons per person per day and 4″ of rain provided by mother nature in our record rainfalls last month ….

While their water usage is a bit excessive, it got me to thinking how much we take for granted in our comfortable Americanized way of life …

Wow …. we all have so much to be grateful for  ❤
