“In a very real sense, we’re all made out of sunlight.”
~ Thom Hartmann

Everything feels renewed today. Open and alive. After nearly 6 months without a dribble of rain, we finally received a good downpour yesterday morning, bringing close to an inch of rain, and apparently another shower early this morning. And I could literally feel the energy radiating from the plants and birds as I sat in this morning’s slow sunrise.

Thom Hartmann writes: “Sunlight – radiating heat, visible light, and ultraviolet light – is the source of almost all life on Earth. Everything you see alive around you is there because a plant somewhere was able to capture sunlight and store it. All animals live from these plants, whether directly (as with herbivores) or indirectly (as with carnivores, which eat the herbivores). This is true of mammals, insects, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and bacteria . . . everything living. Every life-form on the surface of this planet is here because a plant was able to gather sunlight and store it, and something else was able to eat that plant and take that sunlight energy in to power its body.”

My friend Bridgette has a business called Feed Your Purpose. She teaches how we can utilize plant energy to heal not only disease, but the energetic effects of trauma. I think of a plant-based diet as giving life to animals. She thinks of a plant-based diet as giving life to humans. Flip side of the same coin really, and I love to share in her extensive knowledge.

Just the other day, I was tired from a long day at the computer. And I had a party to attend. She asked me if I had any citrus, and suggested that I make a homemade lemon-limeade with muddled mint and a small squeeze of agave nectar. I went down to Spencer’s greenhouse garden to get some mint, and even that in itself was rejuvenating. And the cocktail was wonderfully refreshing. It’s been so dry here, and that beverage put real spring in my step. Think of mint, and how it just springs off the stalks of the plant.

Her new website is the one that was hacked by a mischievous SOB who calls himself boogyman. Well, I conquered boogyman yesterday thankfully, and her site is back up. As we continue to develop her site, you eventually will find there a community of teachers and students who use plant energy to harness, re-create and heal their own energies. Amazing stuff, and I feel honored to be helping her with it all.

So as you eat your meals today, pay homage to your veggies. Think about how it grows in nature, and how it might be contributing to your own rising-falling, expanding-contracting nature.

And remember that you are sunlight ♥
