“I awoke this morning with devout thanksgiving for my friends, the old and new.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

What a beautiful still morning to sit and contemplate. I’m so happy that yesterday cleared off to reveal a sunny afternoon for all my friends down at the chili cook off. Spencer headed out for the festivities, while I stayed home for a peaceful day, working on finishing off a graphics project for a client. While the cook-off was over at sundown, Spencer was still not home when I woke up at 1AM, which gave cause for a bit of worry. Just another reminder to offer our love, as our loved ones depart for their day. One never knows when might be the last time we’ll see someone. I was so happy to find him fast asleep on the couch after my meditation this morning ❤

So yesterday, a friend commented on my post that she had an “ah-ha” moment. Something in my post just smacked her right upside the head. I love that. And what’s so wonderful is that many of you have written that what I’ve shared, has had an impact on you.  And for everyone, it’s been something a little bit different, on a wide variety of subjects, from various traditions and authors. I would just like to say again …. Thank YOU. Because really, without your readership, I’d likely have given up a long time ago …

But most of all, this post goes out to my friend Rob. While he doesn’t read my post, at least that I know, his girlfriend does. So Zo, please hug him for me. It is only because of him, that I have come to feel confident in my exploration. Over the years, we’ve spent many nights in philosophical discussions, and he has always been kind, supportive, sharing in debate and discussion, and offering up his own earned wisdom.

As I googled “make the world stop spinning”, and found the works of the Buddha, out came all of his books for me on Buddhism. I plan to finally get around to reading the novel “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance” during my break.

As I came across Alan Watt’s podcasts, much of Watt’s collection he forwarded to me.

I read “Autobiography of a Yogi”, which gave me a whole new perspective on what it means to seek out God. As I finished that book, I went on a cruise “The Taste of Health”, and attended the Yoga Nidra offerings of Yogi Desai. Rob was watching our house and cat, and he said to me as I left “As you meditate, come and visit me. I’ll be waiting.” I thought it odd at the time, but this tiniest of offerings must have planted the seed, for out of the body I went, and this Astral Samadhi experience has been one of the most profound experiences of my life. It set me on my quest for greater understanding of what had occurred. Without it, I surely wouldn’t be sharing with all of you here today.

So Rob. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. From me, and for everyone who reads this blog, because without you, I would not be doing this.

As my time before break is drawing near, if there is anything you’d like me to explore, I welcome your questions and comments. I’m getting my reading list together, and I’ll be sharing that in the next few days. Maybe you’ll read along with me ??

As I began jotting down my list this AM, a thought occurred to me as well. A friend and client will soon be needing to learn how to use an on-line teaching tool called “Go To Meeting”. It costs $50 a month, which until she has her coursework ready, the investment really can’t be made. So I was thinking, maybe I can start an on-line book club, where we can all meet. If each of us chips in $5 a month, then the tool is paid for, and I can learn how to use it, for her benefit. What my friend will eventually be sharing, I hold no doubt will have a profound impact on her membership. I’m open to thoughts here ….

Have a wonderful week friends. Much love indeed  ❤ –
