Don’t look further for answers: be the solution. You were born with everything you need to know. Make a promise to stop getting in the way of the blessing that you are. Take a deep breath, remember to have fun, and begin.
~ Jonathan H. Ellerby

Today’s red sunrise is dedicated to LOVE. To a day of new beginnings, as it always is, no matter what craziness is going on in the world.

I could literally feel the warmth and love in this sunrise, asking me to turn off my mind, feeling from the heart. Entering the space where there is no judgment. To trust in love.

If there is anything that I have taken away from my many years of yoga and meditation practice, it’s that the true answers and the glory which I’ve been shown have never come through my thinking mind. It has come only when I have had the patience and trust in meditation or the length of practice in yoga that the mind becomes still. The heart – a deeper place of knowing – can then take over, and the beautiful expansive nature of being then enters. I entered this space quickly today. Like a child, needing the warmth in that loving glow, protected from this world’s horrors.

As I sat, I could literally hear Martin Luther King, and I was drawn to remember his six principles of non-violence and offered a silent prayer to those out there battling injustice:

1. Nonviolence is a way of life for courageous people.
2. Nonviolence seeks to win friendship and understanding.
3. Nonviolence seeks to defeat injustice, not people.
4. Nonviolence holds that suffering can educate and transform.
5. Nonviolence chooses love instead of hate.
6. Nonviolence believes that the universe is on the side of justice.

“I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. That is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant.”

“Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it.”

“Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars…. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

“Nonviolence means avoiding not only external physical violence, but also internal violence of spirit. You not only refuse to shoot a man, but you refuse to hate him.”

“The good neighbor looks beyond the external accidents and discerns those inner qualities that make all men human and, therefore, brothers.”

So today, get out there and love thy neighbor. Be the light. Do not let this crazy world dampen your loving spirit and nature. Shine on friends ♥
