“Time always seems long to the child who is waiting – for Christmas, for next summer, for becoming a grownup: long also when he surrenders his whole soul to each moment of a happy day. ”
~ Dag Hammarskjold

It was with patience that I sat for this photograph today. My coffee grew cold, and even my cat gave up trying to tell me it was time for breakfast.

My heart told me that the divine would not let me down. Light would break through the thick clouds. More would be shown to me, if I had the patience, only but to wait.

I thought about all of the brilliant, National Geographic nature photographers, who must wait hours on end to get their shot. The attitude of go, go, go does not serve one well in landscape, nature or wildlife photography.

There must be love combined with the patience. I thought of Jesus, tied to the cross, understanding that struggle would not change the situation. In love, and with patience, he awaited his coming home.

I sat for 45 minutes today. And just as the above quote describes, once I gave up on “waiting”, of feeling the need to get up and make this post, the time flew by, happily.

Nature, by example, shows us anything worthwhile comes over time.

Emerson wrote:
“Adopt the pace of nature. Her secret is patience.”

“Let nothing disturb thee; Let nothing dismay thee;
All thing pass; God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God finds he lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.”
~ St. Teresa of Avila

Happy Easter everyone! God’s beaming light beacons for us all.  Be patient, quit waiting, and surrender to the ever present happiness that awaits you, today and always ♥
