“Symbols are miracles we have recorded into language.”
― S. Kelley Harrell

Happy Monday friends. It was a bit dreary here this morning, with a low layer of lavender clouds obscuring the sun as it rose above the hills.

It’s hard to believe I’ve been back for 3 weeks now. As I sat and contemplated what the week ahead holds for me – breathing out some tension, breathing in tranquility – a very large bumblebee came to visit me.  It hovered near for quite some time, to the point I really thought it would land on me.   Well, I’m not that good of a meditator, as the bumblebee caused me to stand up and break my mantra.

This bumblebee’s visit must hold some meaning for me …

So as I was already standing, I went inside to freshen my coffee, and googled the symbolism of the Bumblebee. For those who believe in animal totems, they are said to play huge roles in our lives. They aid in self-discovery and capture our imagination, giving us incredible avenues of self-expression and awareness. Additionally, they assist in understanding our past, and if we are attentive, our animal totems can reveal glimpses of our future.

So, are you ready for a chuckle …

The ancient Druids saw the bee as symbolising the sun, the Goddess, celebration, and harmonious community.

Those with this power animal more often than not have strong past life connections to the ancient secrets of longevity and can benefit from yoga.

Bees are productive, they stay focused on whatever they are doing and do not get sidetracked from their goal. We are being reminded by the bee to slow down, to smell the flowers and taste the sweet nectar of life.

The bumblebee is a highly important pollinator of many plants, they hold the power of service. Their movement from plant to plant represents the interconnectedness of all living things.

If this is your power animal and your energy is scattered, the bumblebee can show you how to become focused once more.

If you are stung, the message here is – WAKE UP and follow the rhythm of your own heartbeat. Listen to your true self, your higher self. Heed your inner voice and wisdom.

If bumblebee finds you, you must follow its lead. If you do this you will come to the destination most suited for your new life awakening.

Huummmm … This message couldn’t have come at a better time, and be more appropriate to this morning’s meditation thoughts.

I was labeling this week as the week of self-care. Week one of my return was devoted to re-opening the villa, week two to Spencer’s boat. Now, a number of personal things need attention this week, before we embark on Thanksgiving and the Christmas & New Years countdown.

I was thinking about taking some time to review my Wheel of Wellness Chart, and set some intentions for the coming new year. I have moved many facets of my own wheel to a higher vibration, but they need a bit of smoothing out again at this higher level. And re-commitment to my yoga asana practice is one of them. Yes, bumblebee, I’m listening.

I am also very clear that my meditation teacher told me that until I am living a life of service and healing, I will not feel satisfied and settled.

Strangely, the symbolism of the bear totem has been showing itself to me as well, to the point that I googled it too over the weekend …

The primary meaning of the bear spirit signifies strength and confidence.
Standing against adversity; taking action and leadership.
The bear medicine emphasizes the importance of solitude, quiet time, rest.
The spirit of the bear provides strong grounding forces.
The spirit of the the bear indicates it’s time for healing or using healing abilities to help self or others.

I’m off today to drop a load of “stuff” off at my friend’s consignment shop. She’s always been my connection to community. We’ll see what that brings me today Mr. Bumblebee 😉

And if you’ve seen an animal bearing messages this morning, I’d love to hear from you …
