“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi

After eleven straight mornings of dust and clouds, it’s nice to be able to post a photo this morning with some color in it !! A perfect day to be outside or on the water.

I have a lot to be grateful for.

First, I am grateful to the fact I have 318 FB friends! That’s 300 more than I expected when I joined Facebook 4+ years ago. As I reflect further on yesterday’s post, I suppose what makes me sad about my lurking friends is this: In my humble opinion, I think they are missing the wonderful opportunity that Facebook offers. Which is to connect.

Outside of the digital world and my business persona, I too can be a wall flower socially. I’ve always been comfortable there. And as opposites attract, I have a wonderful boyfriend who enjoys the limelight. It works well 🙂  But here in my digital world, I’ve really opened up to people.  In return, I’ve gained and renewed some amazing connections with people.

“Plant a seed of friendship, reap a bouquet of happiness.”

Secondly, I am extremely grateful to the powers that watch over me for filling up my villa this summer. If you’ve been reading, you know I sent out the money magnet mantra a while back. I also have been sending out sincere prayer to heaven above: Each day, I express faith that I will be taken care of. I’ve followed that up with work to support my belief. And heaven delivered five rentals in the past two weeks. Thank you LORD!

As our summer rental calendar filled in, I am now able to plan for summer vacation. Yippie! We close up the villa and Spencer’s charter boat business in September for hurricane season, and get out of dodge. We’ll spend 3 weeks RVing up at Glacier National Park in Northern Montana. We had also read about “workkamping” opportunities, and will head to Eastern Montana to work a Sugar Beet Harvest for two weeks. It’s a fantastic way to earn a very decent paycheck in a short amount of time, and will more than pay for our vacation.

The travel details were like a big jigsaw puzzle. And it took numerous calls into Delta to try to figure out the logistics using our Skymiles.

I am filled with HUGE gratitude for an agent who took at least an hour with us to work through various combinations. In the end, for very few extra miles, we are able to fly through St. Louis on the way up, to visit Spencer’s Mom & Dad. And on our return, the agent was able to swing an overnight in Atlanta, where we can spend an evening with a dear friend. This agent went way above and beyond the call of duty!

And she said quote:

“You can’t put a time limit on good customer service.”

In providing exceptional customer service, not only did she create a perfect travel scenario for us, but if you could have only heard the joy in our parent’s and friend’s voice when we called to say we were coming to visit. The agent sprinkled magic pixie dust !!

So I leave you with a link to 50 Customer Service Quotes you should hang on your wall. To some degree, I think we all are in customer service. Today, if you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else. Go the extra mile, and be exceptional. It’ll come back to you in gratitude ❤
