“A cheerful frame of mind, reinforced by relaxation… is the medicine that puts all ghosts of fear on the run.”
~ George Matthew Adams

I’m so happy to have our glorious sunrise back today! I finally got a good night’s sleep, and was up early and ready to start the day. Hoping my friends in Florida all safely ride TS Andrea, and that she is little more than a rain producer. Yes, hurricane season is here!

So yesterday, I had a friend and client write that she is experiencing fear. Fear of success, and fear of failure. Which is holding her back. As Henry Ford says: “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t–you are right.”

So this post goes out to my friend. She is blessed with many talents, and I have been blessed with helping to ensure that she carries through, on putting her talents to good use, to create the life she is looking to live. She worked through the panic on her own yesterday, by journaling and breathing through it, and I’m very proud of her!

Here’s one of my favorite bookmarks on fear quotes:

And here’s my top 5:

Panic at the thought of doing a thing is a challenge to do it.
~Henry S. Haskins

Fear is a darkroom where negatives develop.
~Usman B. Asif

You block your dream when you allow your fear to grow bigger than your faith.
~Mary Manin Morrissey

He has not learned the lesson of life who does not every day surmount a fear.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

The wise man in the storm prays to God, not for safety from danger, but for deliverance from fear.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson, Journals, 1833

I particularly love that last quote. My world doesn’t spin anymore like it used to. My faith has grown tremendously. Yes, I am responsible for my own destiny. I know there is no knight in shining armor to take care of me. But the more my faith has grown, the more that I am absolutely positive that there is a divine creative power and many angels watching over me. So when fear does creep up for me, I pray. I express my faith. I put a smile on my face (cheerful PMA). I breath, on my back, on my yoga mat if necessary (relax). And then I simply get to it.

So when you are fearful, what works best for you?
