Every day is a surprise. There are confirmations of an inter-connectivity and synchronicity which inspire, titillate and confirm the inherent comedy of the universe.

This morning I was happy for my alarm clock, or I might have missed the sunrise.  We attended a festive fundraising party last night, and the French champagne was flowing !!  So I was a bit bleary eyed when I hit the snooze button at 5:15.

The fundraiser was for Cancer Support VI , who helps uninsured and needy VI Cancer Patients.  At least 250 people attended the event, and it was nice to socialize with friends that I have not seen in a while.  It’s hard to believe that on an island so small, years can go by, without running into people in one’s day-to-day comings and goings.

Of course along with the champagne, they were serving traditional appetizers, so as a plant-based vegan, my food options were very limited.  There were some black bean cakes which we were able to enjoy.  One of the servers happened to overhear Spencer asking if they contained dairy (as he scraped off the sour cream), and she went back to the kitchen, and brought us a fresh plate of cakes along with some roasted potatoes.  She was from Oregon, new to the island, and her best friend back home is vegan, so she sympathized with our predicament.  What a heartfelt random act of kindness 🙂

What is even more amazing, right as she handed us our plate, another couple happened to be walking by.  They too are vegan.  Spencer asked them where they live, as we should get together some time.  When they replied that they live on Peterborg, in the community of Red Rock, I about dropped my plate.  That’s where we live !!  Turns out they are our neighbors, living on the upper road of our small development.  Talk about synchronicity and a small world !!

Deepak Chopra writes:  According to Vedanta, there are only two symptoms of enlightenment, just two indications that a transformation is taking place within you toward a higher consciousness. The first symptom is that you stop worrying. Things don’t bother you anymore. You become light hearted and full of joy. The second symptom is that you encounter more and more meaningful coincidences in your life, more and more synchronicities. And this accelerates to the point where you actually experience the miraculous.

All I have to say is WOW !!   It is said that there is no such thing as chance; and what seems to us mere accident springs from the deepest source of destiny.  I don’t know about enlightenment, but I do feel that the universe is aiding me in unfolding my message.

A coincidence is a small miracle in which God chooses to remain anonymous.  I recognize the divine in all of it, and offer thanks for our new friendship.
